so this week was good. i´m doing good and things here are super hot. the weather is burning. its not even summer, but i sweat the second i leave the house, when i´m in the house, when i´m sleeping, always. its hot. i hear that its only going to get hotter which is exciting. but anyway....
This past week, my comp and i looked for a bunch or people. We had to cut almost all of our invgators because they weren´t making progress, which was kinda sad because some of them were really awesome and we just could never find them in house or they weren´t married (like this one guy who is super awesome and could definitely be baptized, but his wife left him 3 years ago and so now he´s living with someone else and he can´t divorce his old wife because he can´t find her and she won´t talk to him and he can´t be married to two people and you can´t get baptized unless you´re married) or some other reason. but basically, we cut most of our investigators and so this week we spent a lot of time looking for people who are awesome and who will accept Jesus Christ. our mission pres started this new thing called primero visitas (first visit for non-portuguese speakers) and we don´t waste time. basically, now, when we talk to a person, we talk with them to see if they have any interest in the church. if yes, then we teach them a short 5-10 min lesson, and then committ them to church. if they can´t committ to go to church, then we cut them. if we think they´re lame, we cut them. we work a lot with this new system but its good and should help us gain a new big teaching pool.
funny stories: don´t have that many. not that much funny stuff happened, except on sept 11 when i held a septeber 11 commoration/memorial. it was awesome. i drew an american flag on a piece of paper and hung it over the door. then we all sang the nation anthem while my brazilian comp waved hisbrazil jersey in the air, as if to say "i´m patriotic too." as if. brazilians are not near as patriotic as americans or the commorations they hold, which are cool beans.
anyway. i´m doing good. i´m having fun keeping it real here in brazil. hope you guys keep it real there. I know this church is true and am so grateful for this oppurtunity to share it with the people down here. love,
