hey!

So this week has been really good. i´ve been having a really good time here and its already gone by really fast. i can´t believe that this sunday was already the halfway point!! yeah! i´m so happy. the CTM is definitely a necessary part of missionary work, but after a month, its also getting kinda boring. sometimes i just wanna jump the fence and just get out there haha.

but anyway, here are some things i did this week:

first of all, thanks for the package you sent. it was awesome. the treats were good, and my district and i loved the trail mix. i also really like the balloons. they´ll be awesome for the 4th of July party i think we´re gonna have. its gonna be classy.

another thing that i thought was really cool happened on friday. we had something called TRC, and i´m not sure what it stands for, we teach brazilians in portuguese and we´re filmed and then afterwards we get to watch it and see how we did. so that was cool. i think we did good. i can actually say a lot of stuff (if its about the Gospel), but i´m just kinda slow at it and it takes a little bit to conjugate the verbs. but its coming, so that´s awesome.
and also, this friday is going to be super exciting because we´re going out into the streets to go proselyting. we´re definitely ready--i can give out my street contacts really well, but its just hard to understand what they say when they respond in high-speed portuguese. but its gonna be awesome, and my companion is also really good at speaking cause he took a class at the U of U so that helps a lot. i´ll let you know how that goes.

And this week was always really sad because the Brazilians in our room left this week. they´re the funniest, cooliest people ever and they´re super crazy. its a bummer that they left but they´re gonna do awesome out there. when they went proselyting, they had like 45 contacts and then gave away all their book of mormons. i´ll miss them

here´s a story: so the other day, i was sitting at lunch and my comp and i were talking to some brazilians. we were chatting, and i told them i played soccer, and then the guy we were talking to was like: what club do you play for? we talked some more, and apparently, you can´t say you `play soccer´unless you are on a professional, or at least collegiate team because everyone plays on their school team, and the guy we were talking to (who looked like he could be good, but not that good) played on a legit club pro team for são paulo. so anyway. i´d probably get rocked by a 5-year-old....

also, i think you had a question about the Vitoría boundaries. so here´s what happened: the rio north mission is getting changed so i will no longer be in the city. instead, i´ll still be in the same general area, which is the coast north of rio. it´ll be super awesome, and i heard its very very pretty--as pretty as rio or more so--and they also have the best pineapple in the world. this changes july 1.

also, when is chad coming down? just wondering.

anyway thanks for all the packages you´ve been sending. they´re awesome. i love all you guys. be awesome.

love

Elder Tyler Tasso
